Katy's pools
are coming due.
Most of the pools in Cinco Ranch, Grand Lakes and Seven Meadows went in between 1998 and 2008. Plaster lasts 10 to 15 years. If yours is original, it is past the end of its service life — and a remodel costs roughly a third of a rebuild.

Ranges are for planning. Your written quote is a fixed price after we see the pool.
Do it once, in the right sequence.
The most expensive remodel is the one done in two phases. New plaster and then coping a year later means chipping into a finish you just paid for. New decking before you replace the failing skimmer means cutting the deck back open.
If the budget can't cover everything at once, we'll tell you which items have to be bundled and which can genuinely wait a season.
| 1 · Find leaks | Pressure-test lines before anything else |
|---|---|
| 2 · Structure | Repair cracks, skimmers, main drains, light niches |
| 3 · Plumbing | Replace failing runs while the deck is open |
| 4 · Coping & tile | Sets the finished waterline elevation |
| 5 · Decking | Poured to the new coping |
| 6 · Interior finish | Last, so nothing lands on fresh plaster |
| 7 · Equipment & startup | New pad, then a 28-day brush-and-balance schedule |
Remodeling questions
How much does it cost to resurface a pool in Katy?
Replaster with quartz on an average 15,000-gallon Katy pool typically runs $6,500 to $11,000. Adding new waterline tile puts it closer to $9,000 to $15,000. A full remodel with tile, coping, decking and equipment generally lands between $25,000 and $60,000.
How do I know if my pool needs replastering?
Rough patches that scrape feet, staining that won't brush out, visible aggregate, or chips around the steps and light niche. If you're losing more than about a quarter-inch of water a day beyond evaporation, that's a leak to find before any resurfacing.
How long does a pool remodel take?
A straight replaster is about a week including the drain, chip-out, cure and refill. Add tile and coping and you're at two to three weeks. A full remodel with new decking usually runs four to six.
Can you convert my chlorine pool to salt water?
Yes, and it's one of the better upgrades for the money — usually $2,200 to $4,000 installed. Worth pairing with a variable-speed pump, which on most Katy pools cuts the pool's share of the electric bill by half or more.
